Sabrina Freidenfelds, MPH, IBCLC
Sabrina has more than fifteen years of experience in health education, maternal and infant healthcare, and health care training. She has worked as a Lactation Consultant in many settings — hospitals, public health clinics, and pediatric offices — and particularly loves supporting families in their homes and in a relaxed home-like office.
Sabrina’s area of clinical focus include ‘investigating’ low supply (when the answer isn’t obvious), getting to the bottom of toe-curling breast and nipple pain, understanding the impact of birth and prenatal life on a baby’s ability to breastfeed well. She has a deep knowledge on how infant oral, facial, and upper body anatomy impact the ease of feeding.
Additionally, she specializes in supporting expectant and new families, helping them navigate the complex — and often contradictory — information that pours in from health care providers, books, and blogs. She is committed to seeking out and applying the most up-to-date evidence to guide her practice, indulging her inner geek by keeping abreast on the latest research. She takes a non-judgmental, pragmatic — yet direct — approach to helping parents reach the goals they want for themselves.
Sabrina loves living in Oakland, spending her free time with her family playing make-believe, building forts, and trying to sneak in a nap — or a date! — when the baby is sleeping.
Kaitlyn Burger, RN, IBCLC (BabyKind Lactation Consulting)
Then Comes Baby is pleased to collaborate with Kaitlyn Burger, RN, IBCLC of BabyKind Lactation Consulting for Office Visits in our Grand Ave. offices and East Bay lactation consultations, including Oakland, Orinda, Lafayette, Walnut Creek, and Danville.
Kaitlyn has spent the majority of her nursing career building up a stellar reputation, first as an inpatient IBCLC at Kaiser Oakland and now as an inpatient and outpatient IBCLC at Alta Bates hospital. We knew right away that she was someone we wanted to have on our team, not just because of her years of experience, but also her great ability to help people feel relaxed and comfortable — it’s clear from early on that she’s both a trusted resource AND and expert.
Kaitlyns’s area of focus are working with moms in the NICU and NICU “graduates,” helping get to the bottom of painful feedings, and working with slow-to-gain weight babies.
She’s an Oakland native, the mom of three breasted children, and can play a mean game of Poker.
